The Dallas Mavericks are on the road on Sunday afternoon in Cleveland to face the Cavs, but the team has been decimated by injuries and listed multiple starters as questionable. Kyrie Irving (shoulder), Daniel Gafford (ankle) and P.J. Washington (knee) are all questionable, while Luka Doncic (calf) remains out.
If any of the three questionable players sit and the others play, they’ll be very busy working with some of the backups to carry the load.
If Kyrie is out, Spencer Dinwiddie and Jalen Hardy would get most of the work in the backcourt with Quentin Grimes also in the mix.
If Washington is out, Naji Marshall and Olivier-Maxence Prosper would be next up with Kessler Edwards also potentially getting more work.
Where things get really interesting is if Gafford sits. In that scenario, the Mavs would be without Gafford, Dereck Lively II and Maxi Kleber, leaving the team very undersized against the frontcourt of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. The Mavs would have to play small with Prosper or go wit the very unproven Kylor Kelley in the middle.
If all those players are out, Marshall and Edwards would be the most interesting from a DFS perspective since both have shown they can step up when called upon for more work.
Keep a close eye on the injury report for the Mavs to see what to expect when they take on the Cavs at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.
