Julius Randle Injury Update: February 1 vs. the Wizards

Julius Randle played just 10 minutes during the Timberwolves’ Thursday night win over the Jazz before exiting due to an apparent injury. Now, the former All-NBA forward is slated to miss his first game of the season.

Randle has been ruled out of Saturday’s 8 p.m. contest against the Wizards due to a groin issue.

It’s been an up-and-down campaign for the veteran power forward. Randle is averaging 18.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in his 48 appearances, and notably, hasn’t missed a single game until now.

With the veteran sidelined, Naz Reid is a candidate to see additional minutes at the four.

The Timberwolves are 27-21 and seventh in the Western Conference, just half a game back of the Clippers for the six-seed.
