There are 11 games tipping off across tonight’s Wednesday NBA slate, making for an exciting night of basketball.
Most notably, the Boston Celtics will look to bounce back from their loss to the Houston Rockets and take on the Chicago Bulls tonight. In addition, the Denver Nuggets will take on the New York Knicks while the Philadelphia 76ers host the Sacramento Kings on the heels of De’Aaron Fox’s future seeming uncertain. The Miami Heat will also continue to navigate the murky trade waters with Jimmy Butler’s future hanging in the balance as they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight.
In the later slate of games, the San Antonio Spurs will host the Los Angeles Clippers and the Minnesota Timberwolves will play the Phoenix Suns. The final matchup of the night will tip-off at 10:00 p.m. ET between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors.
With a ton of exciting basketball set to take place, here are my favorite prop bets across the Wednesday slate.
Tobias Harris Over 11.5 Points (-125)
The Detroit Pistons are firmly in the playoff hunt and sit at 23-23 on the season overall. They prioritized adding some win-now veterans this offseason to accelerate their timeline to correlate with the leap being taken by Cade Cunningham. Tobias Harris has been a key part of this picture for Detroit and the 32-year-old has been solid in his role. Harris is averaging 12.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists across his 31.9 minutes per game this season.
Detroit is set to face off with the Indiana Pacers tonight, with both teams playing with an up-tempo style. Both rank in the top eight in pace over the past five games, with the Pacers coming in at sixth from a season-long standpoint. Harris is quietly really effective in transition and this is an area he should be looking to get involved with tonight.
Harris has tallied as many as 27 points in a game this season and recorded over 11.5 points in 23 of the 44 games he has played. The veteran is coming off a frustrating two-point performance in a blowout loss to the Cavaliers in which he shot 1-for-9 from the field. Indiana ranks 21st in opponent points per game and 22nd in opponent field-goal percentage. Harris has averaged 16.9 points per game against Pascal Siakam across the 24 matchups in his career and Indiana has even deeper defensive concerns beyond Siakam. Look for Harris to get back on track and record at least 12 points tonight.
Kelly Oubre Jr. to Record 8+ Rebounds (+115)
The Philadelphia 76ers are on a three-game winning streak and will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back after defeating the Lakers last night. With injuries continuing to ravage the Sixers’ roster, Kelly Oubre Jr. has emerged as a recent bright spot and driving source of the team’s success. Joel Embiid and Andre Drummond continue to miss time, making rebounding an increasingly weak spot for the Sixers. They rank dead last in the league in rebounding on the season and 15th in opponent rebounds allowed.
Kelly Oubre Jr. has been a part of the solution and has been especially aggressive on the glass of late. Overall, he is averaging 14.0 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Oubre Jr. has recorded at least eight rebounds in 13 of the 42 games he has played this season, including three consecutive games entering tonight’s matchup. Oubre Jr. is averaging 8.7 rebounds per game across his past seven matchups and will face a Kings team that ranks 13th in total rebounds and 12th in opponent rebounds per game.
The standard rebounding prop for Kelly Oubre Jr. is set at 6.5 with the over favored at -145 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. While I like this number as well, it is worth capitalizing on the +115 odds for the Kansas product to record at least eight rebounds tonight.
Mike Conley Over 13.5 Points & Assists (-110)
Neither the Minnesota Timberwolves nor the Phoenix Suns hold the exact outlook they hoped for at this point in the season. The two teams sit in seventh and eighth place in the Western Conference and will face off tonight with the matchup taking place in Phoenix.
While his best days are surely behind him, Mike Conley is still capable of producing at a high level, even with his level of opportunity reduced. Conley is playing a career-low 24.6 minutes per game but is still averaging 8.0 points and 4.3 assists per game.
Over the past five games, the Suns have allowed a league-worst 29.2 points per game to opposing starting point guards. They also rank 18th in opponent points per game, 17th in opponent assists allowed and 18th in opponent made three-pointers per game.
Conley has recorded over 13.5 points and assists in 19 games this season and has seen a recent bump in minutes. The 37-year-old played 31:22 of game time on Wednesday, which marked his fifth-highest minutes total on the season. Expect him to continue to be involved in tonight’s matchup and see enough opportunity to reach these numbers with his ability as a floor general proving important to this Timberwolves team tonight.
Moses Moody Under 1.5 Made Three-Pointers (+120)
The Golden State Warriors continue to debate the best direction of the franchise as they sit in 11th place in the Western Conference. The next era of Warriors players has not looked capable of carrying the torch in the way the organization needs them to, with Moses Moody being a key part of the discussion. The Arkansas product has shown some flashes but has not delivered quite to the level the organization needs him to and it is a difficult matchup tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
On the season overall, Moody is averaging 8.6 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists across his 17.9 minutes of play. He is shooting a career-best 40.1% from beyond the arc and attempting 4.2 perimeter shots per game. This comes out to an average of 1.7 made three-pointers per game but he has been held to under 1.5 made three-pointers in 21 of the 39 games he has played. This includes eight games in which he failed to make a three-pointer at all.
Golden State will face off with the Thunder tonight who are allowing the fewest points per game on the season while holding opponents to the lowest field-goal and three-point percentage. This will be the second matchup between these two teams and Moody was held scoreless in the first game while shooting 0-for-3 from beyond the three-point arc. Expect the Thunder’s variety of high-level defenders to make an impact in this game and for Moody to be held to under 1.5 made three-pointers for the 22nd time this season.
