Darius Garland Injury Update: January 29 vs. Heat

With the Cavaliers playing their first game of a back-to-back set Wednesday, they are resting Darius Garland vs. the Heat, while Sam Merrill ($3,400, illness) is questionable. Garland should be back in the lineup for Thursday’s matchup vs. the Hawks. This season, the guard is averaging 21.7 points and 6.8 assists per game with a 27.6% usage rate.

Garland has only missed one game this season and in that contest, Ty Jerome ($4,400) entered the starting lineup and went off for 29 points vs. the Pelicans (36.75 FPTS). While Miami is a difficult matchup, ranking 11th in defensive efficiency, Jerome will be a great DFS target if he is starting Wednesday. Donovan Mitchell ($8,400) and Evan Mobley ($7,900) should also take on larger roles with Garland sidelined and are viable DFS options.

The Cavaliers blew out the Pelicans by 28 points in the lone game Garland missed and Cleveland is a seven-point favorite over Miami for Wednesday night on DraftKings Sportsbook.
