Rockets -6 (-110)
The Rockets have been playing inspired basketball, earning back-to-back road wins over the Cavaliers and the Celtics. On the other hand, the Hawks are struggling, having lost five consecutive games, and they now face further challenges. Trae Young is listed as questionable due to a hamstring injury. Despite the absence of key players like Young, Jalen Johnson and Dyson Daniels, De’Andre Hunter stepped up with a career-high 35 points in the Hawks’ loss to the Timberwolves. Daniels will be back in the lineup, but Johnson remains out. Houston, led by Dillon Brooks, who scored 36 points against Boston, will look to keep its momentum going. Given Atlanta’s struggles with depth and injuries, the Rockets should cover the -6 spread on the road.
Lakers -4 (-112)
The Lakers are in the midst of a four-game winning streak, their longest since before Thanksgiving, as they head into a road matchup with the 76ers. Riding high from a 112-107 victory over the Hornets on Monday, the Lakers have been clicking with Anthony Davis leading the charge. Davis posted a season-high 42 points and 23 rebounds in the win, displaying a dominant performance on both ends of the floor. Meanwhile, LeBron James added 22 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. The 76ers will be without Joel Embiid, Paul George and Jared McCain, which puts much pressure on Tyrese Maxey to carry the offense, making it challenging to envision the Lakers not covering a -4 spread.
Jazz +12.5 (-112)
The Warriors are reeling after a 118-108 loss to the Lakers, and Stephen Curry’s shooting slump continues, having scored 21 or fewer points in four consecutive games. Despite Curry’s struggles, the Warriors are still potent but inconsistent, especially with Jonathan Kuminga sidelined. Utah has been inconsistent recently but has shown resilience, especially with Lauri Markkanen and Collin Sexton leading the charge. Golden State is favored, but expect Utah to cover the +12.5 spread, as Curry’s shooting woes and the Warriors’ lack of consistency give the Jazz a shot at staying within the number.
Bucks -5.5 (-108)
The Bucks, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, are coming off a loss to the Clippers, snapping a five-game win streak. As they face the Trail Blazers on the second night of a back-to-back, Lillard returns to Portland, where he spent his first 11 years in the NBA. Although Lillard’s first trip back last season was filled with emotion, the Bucks are coming into this game focused and ready to prove that they are still one of the top teams in the East. Portland will look to keep pace, but without a fully healthy roster, including the potential absence of Deandre Ayton, who is listed as questionable, it will struggle against the star power of Milwaukee. The Bucks should cover the -5.5 spread.
Damian Lillard Over 27.5 Points (-115)
Damian Lillard has been on a tear, averaging 29.0 points, 7.5 assists and 6.3 rebounds in his last six games. Facing his former NBA team, the Portland Trail Blazers, Lillard will have extra motivation to put on a show. Even though his performance in his last two games against the Blazers was subpar, he’s consistently scored for the Bucks and should surpass the 27.5-point mark tonight. With Portland struggling defensively and Lillard’s ability to take over games, look for the Bucks’ star to continue his scoring streak.
