Jayden Daniels and the Commanders will head into Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. Washington is a six-point road underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook and the game total is set at O/U 47.5 points. Divisional matchups are always fun to watch but watching a playoff divisional matchup to win the NFC Championship? Sign me up.
If you’re reading this, that means you’re a first-touchdown scorer sicko like myself. Here are the top five players in terms of odds to be the first touchdown scorer:
- Saquon Barkley (+350)
- Jalen Hurts (+550)
- A.J. Brown (+900)
- Terry McLaurin (+1000)
- DeVonta Smith (+1100)

Washington Commanders at Philadelphia Eagles
Saquon Barkley First TD Scorer (+350)
It’s the playoffs. I’d love to give you an obscure play but it comes down to Saquon Barkley being Saquon Barkley. The NFL’s leading rusher has not missed a step in the postseason, averaging 6.4 yards per carry across two games against the Packers and Rams. The Eagles lead the league in rushing EPA and the Commanders rank 27th in defensive rushing EPA.
This is a divisional matchup, so Barkley is familiar with the Commanders. He torched them in both Week 11 and 16 for a total of 348 scrimmage yards and four rushing touchdowns. Washington also allowed Bucky Irving to total 70+ rushing yards in the Wild Card Round and Jahmyr Gibbs to total 170+ scrimmage yards in the Divisional Round. Additionally, Barkley has totaled a combined 13 first-quarter carries across both postseason games. Unless Jalen Hurts vultures the first touchdown or Philadelphia comes out very flat against an exploitable defense, this should be a relatively sweat-free bet. He has scored the first touchdown five times this season. Barkley is inevitable.
