The Cavaliers will look to respond after a close 109-108 loss to the Rockets on Wednesday. Despite missing Evan Mobley due to injury, Cleveland was in a position to win, with Darius Garland’s free throws just falling short. Ty Jerome’s career-high 33 points off the bench were a bright spot, and with the Cavs averaging 121.8 points per game, they remain a force. Houston is coming off a strong win against Cleveland but will need more consistent production from Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks, who both struggled in Wednesday’s win. Cleveland’s offense and depth should prove too much for Houston in this one.
Warriors -2 (-105)
The Warriors are riding high after a 131-106 win over the Bulls. Quinten Post shone in that game with 20 points and five rebounds, marking a solid start to his NBA career. The Warriors now face the Lakers, who are on a four-game win streak but could be dealing with the absence of LeBron James, who is now listed as questionable. Golden State’s offense continues to hum, especially with Stephen Curry leading the charge. The Lakers have won four of five, but without the full complement of their stars, the Warriors should have the advantage. Expect Golden State to cover the -2 spread at home.
Clippers -3 (-110)
The Clippers are starting to find their rhythm, having won five of their last six. The Bucks are on a hot streak of their own, winning eight of their past nine games, but Doc Rivers will face his former team in this one. The Bucks have been strong behind Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, but the Clippers have Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Norman Powell and a solid supporting cast. Despite the recent form of the Bucks, the Clippers will take advantage of their home court, especially with Leonard slowly working back into his rhythm and the potential absence of key players for Milwaukee. The -3 spread is very achievable for the Clippers.
Franz Wagner Over 18.5 Points (-105)
Franz Wagner has been a bright spot for the Orlando Magic despite their struggles. In Thursday’s 101-79 loss to the Trail Blazers, Wagner scored 20 points, showing his potential even in difficult circumstances. The Magic face the Pistons, a team that has struggled on defense. Orlando has lost five straight, but Wagner’s ability to contribute consistently on offense gives him a great chance to go over his point total in this one. Expect him to step up again as the Magic look to regain form.
Zion Williamson Over 28.5 Points + Rebounds (-110)
Zion Williamson returns from a two-game absence and will be eager to contribute in his first game back. Williamson is averaging 21.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game this season, and against a Charlotte Hornets team that has struggled defensively, he should be able to meet and exceed his combined points and rebounds total. Despite his injury history, Williamson has been a dominant presence when on the floor. This is a favorable matchup for him to make an impact on both ends.
