It’s a huge day for NBA hoops with a full slate of 14 games on the schedule. Tonight at 7 p.m. EST, the Detroit Pistons travel to Orlando for a meeting with the Orlando Magic.
Coming into this matchup, the Pistons are showing tremendous growth at 23-21 on the campaign. Cade Cunningham is growing into a superstar right before our eyes, which has a young Detroit squad sixth in the Eastern Conference following years of dwelling in the NBA’s cellar.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have weathered the storm of injuries to their two stars, Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero, and sit 23-23 thus far. Both are finally healthy, setting the Magic up to disappear from seventh in the East and reappear significantly higher in the standings by season’s end.

Jalen Duren Over 20.5 PTS + REB (-105)
Duren’s name doesn’t carry the most star power in this matchup, but the young center is good for a double-double on any given night. The Magic’s center rotation isn’t the league’s most formidable force with Wendell Carter Jr. and Goga Bitadze manning the five, so Duren could be in position to put up another solid stat line tonight.
The 21-year-old has notched a PTS + REB double-double in each of his last four contests to eclipse the 20.5 mark as seen in this line. In the two games before this hot streak, he tallied 10 points in each but came just three and two rebounds shy of breaking over 20.5. In other words, Duren is flirting with consistent success here. Ride the hot hand as he tries to make it five-straight tonight.
Cade Cunningham Over 38.5 PTS + REB + AST (-115)
This line is high, but Cunningham’s talent level is higher. The former first-overall pick is averaging career-highs across the board with 24.6 PTS, 6.5 REB, and 9.4 AST per contest. He’s an elite talent and truly coming into his own as the engine and alpha scorer of this Pistons team.
The young point guard averages 40.6 PTS + REB + AST overall this year. He’s surpassed tonight’s 38.5 line in seven of his last ten games, and in this spot against a great Magic team, he should be counted on to elevate his play in a competitive contest. He can score at all three levels, find the open teammate, and hit the boards. This could be a good one.
Franz Wagner Over 1.5 Three-Pointers Made (+105)
Wagner is only just returning from injury and played his first game in over a month on Thursday night. He tallied 20 points and four boards in 24 minutes of action, a solid first outing back in the lineup.
While he will likely remain a bit limited in terms of minutes, one can expect Wagner to get involved in the offense quickly. This bet does carry a bit of risk since Wagner averages exactly 2.0 three-pointers made per game this season, and he undoubtedly needs to shake some rust off following his absence. On the other hand, this is available at +105 odds, so it could present solid value if he regains his form sooner rather than later.
