Best DeVonta Smith prop bets for Eagles vs. Commanders

The Eagles look to reach their second Super Bowl in three years when they host the division rival Commanders in the NFC Championship Game. DeVonta Smith has been quiet in recent weeks, but the former Heisman winner is one of the most overqualified second options in the league.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, Philadelphia is currently a six-point favorite, with the game’s total set at 47.5 points. Below, I’ve detailed my favorite prop bets centered around Smith in this impending showdown.

DeVonta Smith Under 48.5 Yards (-107)

The Eagles have football’s most lethal offensive arsenal. The unit has a pair of All-Pro tackles, an elite receiving core, and the best running back in the world. Add in the fact that the team is anchored by a top-five defense, and there’s no reason this group shouldn’t be the clear-cut title favorites. There’s just one minor issue.

Jalen Hurts is wildly inconsistent and has faltered in the postseason. He has done an adequate job keeping the ball out of harm’s way but has failed to elevate the offense in the way many superior signal callers would with this collection of talent. He’s thrown for under 200 yards in five of his last six outings as offensive coordinator Kellen Moore opts to pound the rock.

The lack of confidence in Hurts trickles down to the production of his top receivers. A.J. Brown has been invisible for nearly a month, and DeVonta Smith has had a largely inconsistent campaign. The latter might have the edge with a condensed passing game script. Yet, the lack of opportunity leaves little margin for error.

DeVonta Smith Under 4.5 Receptions (-157)

The same logic applies here. Washington’s overaggressive secondary makes it vulnerable to allowing chunk plays, but it also helps generate turnovers. Hurts, not turning the ball over is imperative to Philadelphia’s success, and limiting his dropbacks is the obvious solution. Smith’s been under this line in both postseason outings and only surpassed it in one of the previous two meetings against the Commanders. Smith is likely only a factor if this becomes a shootout.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, parlaying these two plays currently provides +108 odds.
