Mitchell earned another All-Star nod last night, becoming an Eastern Conference All-Star starter. His stats took a slight dip this season, but he’s leading the Cavaliers to the best record in the NBA.
The 28-year-old is averaging 23.2 points per game on 44.3 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from distance. Tonight’s points prop line is over two points higher than his average, but it’s reflective of Mitchell’s recent volume.
Mitchell has scored 30+ in three of his last five games and shot at least 21 attempts in four of the last five. While his season average isn’t up to par with tonight’s prop bet, Mitchell has exceeded the line recently.
Volume is the first step to hitting the over. Efficiency is the second. That said, with enough volume, efficiency can be negated. In games that Mitchell has shot at least 20 times, he has scored over 25.5 points in 12 of the 17 games.
