Anthony Edwards Status Update: January 25 vs. the Nuggets

Update: Edwards (illness) is available to play Saturday vs. the Nuggets.

Anthony Edwards is questionable with an illness for Saturday’s national TV game against the Nuggets. It would be the first game the 23-year-old misses this season if he does sit.

Edwards has played in all 44 games this season, helping the Timberwolves stay above .500 despite the team’s rocky first half. He’s averaging 26.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game on 44 percent from the field and 42.6 percent from distance.

If Edwards is sidelined, Julius Randle would likely see more offensive opportunities in the offense. He is the team’s secondary scorer behind Edwards.

The shooting guard position is fairly bleak at the moment since Donte DiVincenzo is injured. Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Joe Ingles and Rob Dillingham all could see increased minutes with Edwards and DiVincenzo out.
