With the Warriors on the second night of a back-to-back, Steph Curry headlines a lengthy injury report for Golden State, as the team welcomes Chicago on Thursday evening.
Curry is questionable due to injury management. Joining him with a Q tag are Trayce Jackson-Davis and Lindy Waters III, while Draymond Green (calf), Jonathan Kuminga (ankle) and Kyle Anderson (glute) remain sidelined.
In Wednesday’s loss to the Kings, Curry logged 33.8 minutes of action, registering a paltry 14 points. It certainly wasn’t a typical Curry performance, as the All-Star took just four three-point attempts and finished the contest with an incredibly modest 17.6% usage rate. The Warriors have had four back-to-back sets on the schedule since the beginning of December and Curry has yet to be available for both games, strongly suggesting that the veteran guard will take a seat on the bench tonight.
If that is the case, Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroder and Buddy Hield should all see increased opportunities. With Curry and Kuminga off the floor in 2024-25, Wiggins and Hield lead Golden State in usage rate, sitting at 29.5% and 27.0%, respectively. Brandin Podziemski is another name to keep an eye on. The sophomore is having a down season after a solid rookie campaign, but Podziemski will make his return to the lineup this evening after missing the last 12 games. He’s averaging 11.9 points and 4.8 assists per 36 minutes.
