LaMelo Ball Injury Update: January 24 vs. the Trail Blazers

Updated:

By: Stan Son

UPDATE: Both Ball and Bridges have been ruled out.

LaMelo Ball ($10,500) missed 11 games since late November due to an ankle injury and right wrist soreness. He has played the last seven games, though, averaging 35.9 minutes per contest. On Thursday, the Hornets listed him as questionable for Friday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Ball played 34 minutes on Wednesday and there’s been no indication of when the injury surfaced.

Charlotte does play a back-to-back on Friday and Saturday, so it’s possible that the team will elect to rest its franchise player in one of those contests.

If Ball is unable to go, then Vasilije Micic ($3.400) would likely get the start. When he started for Ball last time, Micic only received 24 minutes and finished with 13.25 FPTS. He does have three games with over 30 FPTS, though.

Miles Bridges ($7,400) is also questionable for Friday with lower back spasms. He played 34 minutes on Wednesday and has started each of the last 16 games, averaging 32.6 minutes per contest.

If he’s unable to go, then Cody Martin ($3,900) and Josh Okogie ($3,200) would be the likely replacements. Martin is averaging 0.81 FPTS per minute while Okogie is at 0.93.
