Wednesday’s night college basketball slate only features two top-25 teams. However, an AAC battle between Wichita State and Memphis kicks off the action at 7:00 p.m. ET. The second big game of the night takes place in the Big Ten, where the Maryland Terrapins will face the No. 17 Illinois Fighting Illini at 9:00 p.m. ET.
Here are my two favorite player prop bets for tonight’s CBB slate on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Kasparas Jakucionis 18+ points (-125)
This season, Kasparas Jakucionis has been one of the best freshmen in the country. He is averaging 15.9 points, 5.3 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game. Jakucionis is also shooting 40.5 percent on three-pointers. He is leading the Illinois Fighting Illini in scoring this year.
In his last game against Michigan State on January 19, Jakucionis only scored three points, his fewest of the season. But that was because he had five fouls in nine minutes of action. Jakucionis has hit this scoring mark in eight of the previous 11 games. Illinois has lost two of their last three games, and they are currently -7.5 favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook against Maryland. The Terrapins have allowed 18-plus points to an opposing player in four of the last five games.
Nate Calmese 18+ points (-165)
The Washington State Cougars are 15-5 this season while being third in their first year in the WCC. Tonight, they will face Santa Clara at 11:00 p.m. ET on the road. Their leading scorer, who has played in every game this season, has been Nate Calmese. He is averaging 17.3 points a night with 4.7 assists and 3.4 rebounds. Calmese has had at least 20 points in his previous three games. He has hit this scoring total six times in the last 10 games. You can get his over in points at -165.
Calmese has been the focal point of the Cougars’ offense this season, and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. He has attempted 17-plus field goals in four of the last six games. With a high volume, he will be in a good spot to score 18 or more points against Santa Clara tonight.
