On Wednesday night’s seven-game DFS slate, the Nets are the only team playing for the second night in a row. Their injury report dropped in the afternoon and included most of their top players. Cameron Johnson ($7,000; ankle) and Ben Simmons ($5,800; illness) are doubtful while D’Angelo Russell (rest) and Ziaire Williams (ankle) were ruled out. With so few options available in the team’s offense, Reece Beekman ($3,000) makes sense as a bargain value play for DFS contests.

PG Reece Beekman vs. Phoenix Suns, $3,000
Beekman didn’t even play in two of the last three games for the Nets, but he played 21 minutes on Jan. 15 against the Clippers in the last game that Russell missed. He finished with five points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals for 19 fantasy points. In that contest, Williams started, so there should be even more time potentially available for him on Wednesday.
Beekman played a season-high 24 minutes back on Jan. 8 against the Pistons and had 16.25 fantasy points despite shooting just 1-for-6 from the field.
The 23-year-old rookie started the season with the Warriors before being traded to the Nets in the Dennis Schroder trade. He played four years for Virginia in college and has the reputation of being a defense-first multi-category producer at point guard. He’s looked solid in the G League and could be set up for a breakout performance against the Suns since he’s lined up for so much playing time and opportunity in Brooklyn’s home game this Wednesday.
Beekman’s teammates Keon Johnson ($5,700) and Tyrese Martin ($5,200) will likely get more attention and usage than him on this slate, but at the minimum salary he doesn’t have to do much to return excellent per-dollar production while freeing up significant cap space to spend up in other spots on your roster.
