The Celtics are undergoing an awkward stretch. They’re 4-4 in their last eight games and haven’t won or lost two consecutive contests.
Boston is coming off a blowout win against the Warriors and will play the first leg of a back-to-back in Los Angeles. Tonight’s matchup is against the Clippers, who are 12.5-point underdogs. The game total is 219 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Amid this uncharacteristic stretch for the Celtics, Tatum’s stats are a bit sporadic as well. The five-time All-Star had a three-game span in which he scored 15, 38 and 16 points. While he’s averaging 27.5 points per game this season, his recent scoring outputs are a bit too unpredictable.
His assist numbers, however, have been consistent over the past few games. Tatum tallied seven assists in three of the last four games, and he is averaging 5.4 per game. This prop line is just greater than his season average, but it has great value at plus odds.
While Tatum is primarily a scorer, his facilitating is still impressive. He’s increased his assist average each year since entering the league in 2017. His 5.4 average this year is a career high and has at least six assists in 18 of 40 games.
Tonight’s Clippers vs. Celtics game is projected to be a blowout with Norman Powell and Kawhi Leonard sidelined and James Harden questionable. There’s concern that Tatum won’t play enough minutes, but that hasn’t been the case recently.
In both blowout wins and losses in the past eight games, Tatum has played at least 35 minutes. The one exception was against Golden State on Monday in which he played 28 minutes, but he still had seven assists.
