Ohio State is officially atop the college football mountaintop, but college basketball heavyweights are just starting to jockey for postseason positioning. Wednesday features a solid midweek slate, with six schools ranked in the latest AP Poll in action. Here are my two favorite college basketball player props for this tremendous showcase of talent on DraftKings Sportsbook:
Hunter Dickinson 15+ Points (-155)
After it became clear NBA teams weren’t rushing for his services, Hunter Dickinson returned to Kansas for a super-senior season. The two-time All-American has not been the offensive engine he flashed in his last three years in college. Dickinson is shooting the worst field goal percentage of his career and has lost any ability to stretch the floor.
He’s shooting just 23% from distance, and his knockdown mid-range jumper has gone sideways. Dickinson has shown flashes of getting back on track, notably being a monster around the cup. At 7’2″, he’s still simply bigger than most of his matchups. TCU’s Ernest Udeh Jr. got torched by Dickinson in their only other meeting, allowing 30 points to the talented big. This is a favorable assignment for Dickinson to dominate, and he should fill up the score column.
Desmond Claude 15+ Points (-145)
After a pair of seasons at Xavier, Desmond Claude took his talents out west to join Eric Musselman’s squad in Los Angeles. As a freshman, he was primarily a depth piece. Claude took a tremendous leap as a sophomore, starting all 34 games for the Musketeers. He was second on the team in scoring and assists as a slashing combo guard.
Claude’s efficiency has skyrocketed during his time with the Trojans, shooting nearly eight percent better from the field in cardinal and gold. He’s scored at least 15 points in four of his last five outings, including a 31-point explosion against Illinois. He’s averaging over 19 points a night across the previous two months. Claude will have the upper hand against a Nebraska bunch crashing down to Earth and on a four-game skid.
