The AFC Championship is set as the Chiefs will host the Bills in what seems like a yearly playoff affair.
Mark Andrews gifted the Bills an AFC Championship appearance after dropping a critical two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter. The reception would have tied the game with just over 90 seconds remaining.
It set up another Chiefs vs. Bills playoff matchup. The teams have played each other three times in the playoffs since Patrick Mahomes took over as the starting quarterback. Kansas City has won each time.
The Bills will look to change the narrative this year following an MVP campaign from Josh Allen. With both AFC Divisional Round games concluded, the AFC Championship opening odds are up on DraftKings Sportsbook.

It’s hard to get lines much closer than this, especially in the playoffs. The Chiefs are the top-seeded team in the AFC after finishing with a 15-2 record. Aside from a meaningless loss in Week 18, the Chiefs’ only loss came against the Bills in Week 11.
The Bills are the No. 2 seed and will get another shot at the AFC Championship banner. The Chiefs have stood in their way each year, so will this year by any different?
The Chiefs are 1.5-point favorites and are -120 on the moneyline, while the Bills are +100 on the moneyline. The game’s total is set at 48.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Chiefs vs. Bills AFC Championship preview
Unlike the NFC Championship game, this was expected. These are the top two teams in the AFC, so most people expected the rivals to meet once again in the championship game.
The Ravens made it close and would also have been a great matchup against the Chiefs, but the Bills have history in Kansas City. Allen has lost three times at the hands of Mahomes, so this is a chance at redemption.
For Mahomes, it’s a chance to shut down his rival once again and prove he’s still the player to beat in the NFL. Kansas City is looking to win its third straight Super Bowl, which is something no team has ever accomplished.
The Bills have unfinished business in Kansas City with two of the three playoff losses coming at Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City holds that advantage for this matchup, which could prove pivotal in what’s expected to be a tight game.
The Chiefs lost to the Bills earlier this year 30-21, ending a perfect 9-0 start to the season. Mahomes was underwhelming, throwing for just 196 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Allen outplayed him, throwing for 262 yards, one touchdown, one interception and ran for 55 yards and a touchdown.
It’s usually the opposite in the playoffs. Mahomes outperforms Allen and the Chiefs win. That’s the expected outcome this time around, too. Mahomes will go 4-0 against Allen in the postseason.
