The Minnesota Timberwolves host the Cleveland Cavaliers in a fun Saturday night matchup between two potential playoff teams. The Cavaliers are an impressive 34-6 atop the Eastern Conference while the Timberwolves are 22-19 and currently No. 8 in the Western Conference, which would get them a spot in the Play-In Tournament. The Cavaliers are six-point road favorites with the point total set at 226.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
The Timberwolves will be without Donte DiVincenzo (toe) for a second straight game but should have the rest of their roster available on the second night of the back-to-back, according to their official injury report. The Cavaliers listed Evan Mobley (calf) and Isaac Okoro (shoulder) as questionable as they play for the first time since taking a tough 20-point loss to the Thunder on Thursday.
Let’s take a look at some of the best prop bets from this interconference matchup at the Target Center:
Best Prop Bets for Timberwolves vs. Cavaliers on DraftKings Sportsbook
Jarrett Allen 15+ points (+110)
If Evan Mobley is out or limited at all, that should open the door for Allen to step up. Mobley has missed just two games all season and both were home games. In those two contests, Allen had 24 points against the Bulls and 21 points against the Wizards. If you want to take a swing for the fences, you could even back Allen to score 20+ points at +330 or to score 25+ at +1000.
Allen has started all 40 games this season for the Cavs and averaged 14.1 points per game. He has gone over 20 points nine times, including three times in his last 10 games. He has scored over 15 points in six of those games and came up just two points short on Thursday even though he only played 16 minutes against OKC.
In each of his last six games against Minnesota, Allen has scored 15+ points. Whether Mobley plays or not, this feels like a great number for this point total, and if you think Mobley sits or plays reduced minutes, you can take a longer shot on him getting even more points.
Mike Conley under 4.5 assists (-160)
This is a much shorter odds prop, but it seems like an overreaction to Conley’s return to the starting lineup on Friday. He was playing in place of Donte DiVincenzo (toe) and will likely get a second straight start Saturday.
Even if he starts, though, Conley probably won’t get to five assists. In his 37 games this season, Conley has finished under this total 65% of the time. He only had two assists in the lineup Friday. Over his last 13 games, Conley has only had five or more assists twice, and he hasn’t reached that level in any of his last five.
If you’re looking for a safer player prop, this under for Conley’s assists is a strong one to consider. You can choose to add this as part of a parlay with picks from this game or other contests or use it as a solo play.
Jaden McDaniels over 1.5 three-pointers (+130)
McDaniels always plays a lot of minutes for the Timberwolves, and recently, he has been getting more involved in the offense. He has started all 41 games for the Timberwolves this season, averaging 30.1 minutes per game and 1.3 made three-pointers per game while shooting 33.3% from long range. While those numbers might make it seem like this is a good place for the under, I actually like the over at slight plus odds due to recent trends.
McDaniels has hit multiple three-pointers in three of his last four games and in four straight home games. He has taken at least three three-point attempts in four straight games and both his attempts and makes are trending up, along with his overall usage.
Especially with DiVincenzo out, McDaniels should get enough usage to get to this prop, and he’s a solid pick as part of a parlay or individually.
