The Boston Celtics host the Orlando Magic on Friday night in an Eastern Conference contest. The Celtics are scuffling a little bit, and have lost three of their last five games, including their 13-point loss to the Raptors on Wednesday. On the other side, the Magic have Paolo Banchero back from his long injury layoff but are still without Franz Wagner (reconditioning), Jalen Suggs (back) and Goga Bitadze (concussion). The Celtics are 14.5-point home favorites with the point total set at 213 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Let’s take a look at some of the best prop bets from this matchup as these two playoff hopefuls square off at TD Garden::
Best Prop Bets for Magic vs. Celtics on DraftKings Sportsbook
Kristaps Porzingis over 7.5 rebounds (-110)
The Magic don’t have Bitadze, so they’ll likely use Wendell Carter Jr. in their starting lineup as they did on Wednesday. The bench is thin behind WCJ since Mo Wagner (knee) is out for the year leaving primarily just Jonathan Isaac as a center off the bench. Banchero could play time at the five as well, but Orlando could be under-sized in general, opening the door for Porzingis to clean up on the glass.
Porzingis has gone over 7.5 rebounds in five straight games. He returned from a four-game absence due to an ankle injury just before that nice run. Overall on the season, Porzinis is averaging 7.3 rebounds per game in 17 contests, but he’s been more responsible for rebounding recently.
A related bet that I also like a lot if you want longer odds is Porzingis to get a double-double at +245. He has three double-doubles in his last four games, and the Magic have allowed a double-double with rebounds to a member of the opposing team in seven straight games, allowing eight double-doubles over that span.
Cole Anthony under 4.5 assists (+110)
Anthony went way over this line with nine dimes in his most recent game on Wednesday against the Bucks, but before that, he had been held under 4.5 assists in eight of his previous ten games. He’s averaging only 2.7 assists per game this season, although most of those games were in a more reduced off the bench behind Suggs.
He has shattered line twice in his last 11, but he’s still under it much more often than not. With Jrue Holiday and Derrick White hounding him on Friday, this seems like a good spot to grab plus odds in what seems to be an over-correction to Anthony’s most recent performance.
Al Horford over 1.5 3-Pointers (+135)
Horford has gone over this prop in 20 of his 32 games this season (62.5%). He only hit one three in his first game against the Magic this season, but he has multiple three-pointers in four of his last five.
Horford has seen slightly fewer minutes since Porzingis’ return, but he still has played 19+ minutes in every one of his 32 games this season. He takes and makes more three-pointers at home as well, averaging 2.3 three-pointers in Boston compared to just 1.7 three-pointers per game on the road.
