Best Shai Gilgeous-Alexander prop bets for Thunder vs. Mavericks

The Thunder are NBA title favorites at this point and for good reason. The team is 19-1 in their last 20 games and are still playing without Chet Holmgren.

They’re on a four-game win streak after blowing out the Cavaliers last night 134-114. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 40 points in three quarters as the teams split the season series.

Oklahoma City gets an easier matchup tonight as it’s eight-point favorites against a Mavericks team without Luka Doncic. The game total is 225 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Below, I have featured my favorite Gilgeous-Alexander prop bets to consider from this contest.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander under 44.5 points + rebounds + assists (-110)

It may seem counterintuitive to bet the under on Gilgeous-Alexander’s points, rebounds and assists line one night after scoring 40 points in three quarters, but there’s reason for my madness.

The Thunder play the Mavericks without Doncic tonight and potentially without Kyrie Irving, too. The team is a shell of itself without its two stars and is even struggling with just Irving on the floor. Dallas is 2-8 in its last 10 games and now face the toughest matchup of this stretch.

It seems like this would project to be a good opportunity for Gilgeous-Alexander to surpass the over again. Instead, this could be similar to last night in that Gilgeous-Alexander only plays three quarters. The Thunder should easily defeat the Mavericks, limiting the two-time All-Star’s minutes. The difference from last night to tonight is that Gilgeous-Alexander won’t replicate 40 points in three quarters. That’s an impressive feat that likely won’t happen in back-to-back outings.

Gilgeous-Alexander has recorded over 44.5 points, rebounds and assists in two of eight games since the new year, including last night’s performance against the Cavaliers. He’s excellent and is rightfully among the leaders in the MVP race, but this line is asking too much in a second straight game.
