Nikola Jokic Injury Update: January 17 vs. Heat

Nikola Jokic is listed as questionable with an elbow injury for Friday’s game against the Heat. The three-time MVP missed the Nuggets’ last game with the same injury.

Jokic has played in 34 of 40 games for Denver this year and is averaging 30.6 points, 13.2 rebounds and 9.9 assists on 55.5 percent from the field and 47.1 percent from distance.

If he is ultimately ruled out, DeAndre Jordan would likely start in place of the six-time All-Star. Jordan started for Jokic on Wednesday against the Rockets and in the previous game Jokic missed, too. Dario Saric is also a candidate to start as he replaced Jokic in four games this season.

VanVleet has played in 37 of 39 games this year and is averaging 15 points, 6.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game. Amen Thompson will likely start in place of VanVleet tonight. The second-year forward started in both games VanVleet missed this season.
