Mike McCarthy is OUT in Big D and Jerry is looking for the ninth head coach in his tenure as owner of the Cowboys.
Dallas has not won a Super Bowl since the 1990s and there has been some consternation from the fan base about the way Jerry the owner is allowing Jerry the GM to run the team. Legendary Cowboys quarterback and Monday Night Football analyst Troy Aikman even went so far as to question whether the Cowboys head coaching job is all that coveted at this point.
"I love the Dallas Cowboys. I played there for 12 years. I wish them well but to say that it's a coveted job I'm not sure I would necessarily agree with that."

Mike Golic Sr. agreed on Tuesday’s edition of GoJo and Golic, saying, “I agree, I don’t think it’s a coveted job. Jerry Jones has not run this team very well over the last few years.” So who is likely to take over the reins in Dallas? Yes, that’s right, Coach Prime. Deion Sanders is a +100 favorite to land in Dallas as its next head coach and the media is already salivating at the potential for content. After a lot of attention but lackluster results in Year 1 at Colorado, Deion got the Buffaloes rolling this year, coaching them up to a 9-4 record and an appearance in the Alamo Bowl. Part of that success was thanks to his son Shedeur and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. The Cowboys are already set at QB with Dak Prescott, so it seems unlikely that a Sanders package deal is possible. And Hunter is likely to be long gone by the time the Cowboys are on the clock at No. 12. So is this really going to happen? Is Deion going back to Dallas? Deion admitted on Monday night that he and Jerry have already spoken.

Some, however, have been quick to throw some cold water on the potential of Deion teaming up with Jerry Jones again. Jason Fitz told Mike Golic Jr. and Mike Golic Sr. on Tuesday’s edition of GoJo and Golic that he would give Deion to the Cowboys “on a scale of 0 to 100, I’d give it a 1…There’s very little chance in my mind that this makes any sense for anybody.”
So if not Deion than who? Who else is on the board for the next Cowboys head coach? Former Dallas quarterback and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has the second-best odds on DraftKings Sportsbook at +250. Commanders offensive coordinator and former Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury has the third-best odds at +350 and certainly would make a bigger splash than Moore given his past in Arizona and the way he’s helped develop rookie Jayden Daniels. And you really want to make a splash and grab some attention (which we all know Jerry loves almost as much as life itself)? How about new UNC head coach Bill Belichick, who sits at +650.
