There are seven NBA games on Tuesday’s slate.
No teams are playing the second leg of a back-to-back.
As for injuries, Grayson Allen is probable. Trae Young, Kyrie Irving, Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Gary Trent Jr., Ryan Rollins and Caleb Martin are questionable. Tyrese Haliburton and Ty Jerome are doubtful. Joel Embiid, Jalen Johnson, Jusuf Nurkic, Herbert Jones and Andre Drummond are out. Keep track of all the pertinent injury updates at DK Live.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, there is one double-digit favorite: OKC -12.5 over PHI. There are four games with a total of at least 230: PHO/ATL (237), NOP/CHI (233.5), SAC/MIL (231.5) and DEN/DAL (230.5). There are two games with a total below 220: OKC/PHI (216.5) and BKN/POR (216). Guard
Stud
Russell Westbrook, Denver Nuggets at Dallas Mavericks ($6,900): Westbrook entered the starting lineup around 10 games ago when Aaron Gordon succumbed to injury. Since then, he’s put up over 30 FPTS in all but one game with two over 50 and a high of 62.25 FPTS. While Gordon returned last game, he only played 19 minutes and it will likely be a few more games before he receives over 20 minutes. Westbrook went for 49.5 FPTS against these Mavericks in that one. It’s likely that Westbrook finishes in the 30 to 40 FTPS range, but he’s also capable of producing a triple-double and a 50-burger. If so, that could match the output of many of the higher-priced options.
Other Options: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($10,500), Devin Booker ($9,000), Zach LaVine ($8,600), Dejounte Murray ($8,600), De’Aaron Fox ($8,300), Malik Monk ($7,400), Dyson Daniels ($7,100) if Trae Young is out, Anfernee Simons ($6,800), Spencer Dinwiddie ($6,400), Shaedon Sharpe ($6,100)
Value
TJ McConnell, Indiana Pacers vs. Cleveland Cavaliers ($4,700): Haliburton has not missed a game this season, but he’s doubtful for Tuesday after suffering a hamstring injury on Sunday. McConnell will likely get the start and could approach 30 minutes of run. Although the matchup with Cleveland isn’t great, as they are 9th in defensive efficiency, Cleveland is 11th in pace and McConnell averages 1.24 FPTS per minute.
Other Options: Tyrese Martin ($5,200), Ziaire Williams ($5,100), Vit Krejci ($3,400) if Trae Young is out
Forward
Stud
Trey Murphy III, New Orleans Pelicans at Chicago Bulls ($7,700): Over the last nine games, Murphy has put up over 40 FPTS six times. The other three were over 30 FPTS, so the floor looks to be relatively high. Now he gets a matchup against a Bulls team that is 3rd in pace and 22nd in defensive efficiency.
Other Options: Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,500), Kevin Durant ($9,100), Zach LaVine ($8,600)
Value
Tyrese Martin, Brooklyn Nets at Portland Trail Blazers ($5,200): Martin has gone from a two-contract to playing a consistent 30 minutes a night for the Nets. Over the last five games, he’s received at least 30 minutes in four contests with 35 minutes in the most recent game. He’s put up over 23 FPTS in all with two over 30 FPTS. Way back on November 27th, he contributed 41.5 FPTS, so there is an upside.
Other Options: Ziaire Williams ($5,100), Keegan Murray ($5,100), Trey Lyles ($3,700), Tosan Evbuomwan ($3,500), Oso Ighodaro ($3,500)
Center
Stud
Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets at Dallas Mavericks ($12,200): Jokic is the best fantasy player in the land and has the highest floor/ceiling combo. He’s put up at least 60 FPTS in each of the last eight games with four of those over 80 and a high of 93 FPTS. Not much else needs to be said.
Other Options: Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,500), Domantas Sabonis ($9,800), Kevin Durant ($9,100), Nikola Vucevic ($8,400), Isaiah Hartenstein ($7,000)
Value
Brook Lopez, Milwaukee Bucks vs. Sacramento Kings ($5,000): There are games in which Lopez plays in the mid-20s. I don’t think Tuesday will be one of those games, as his length and girth will be needed to matchup against Domantas Sabonis. On the offensive end, there should be plenty of opportunities to make it rain from downtown. Lopez has six games over 40 FPTS this season with two of those over 50.
Other Options: Clint Capela ($4,900), Donovan Clingan ($4,100) if Deandre Ayton is out, Trey Lyles ($3,700), Oso Ighodaro ($3,500)
