The Warriors will be short-handed tonight vs. the Raptors. Jonathan Kuminga (ankle) and Brandon Podziemski (abdominal) are out, and while Draymond Green (illness) is currently questionable, he is trending towards being inactive as well after the veteran missed shootaround this morning.
With these three key players absent, Curry’s already-large role should reach new heights. With Kuminga, Podziemski and Green off the floor this season, Curry’s usage rises 6.1 percentage points to 34.7% and his assist rate increases 1.3 percentage points to 29.1%. On a per-36 minute basis, Curry is averaging 24.9 points and 7.1 assists with those three players off the floor this season.
This matchup vs. Toronto is also very appealing. The Raptors rank sixth in pace and 28th in defensive efficiency this season. Additionally, Toronto is allowing the fifth-most points to point guards, and they are giving up the fourth-most made three pointers per game. This obviously bodes well for a sharpshooter like Curry, who is shooting 10.6 threes per game and knocking them down at a 41% clip this season.
The Warriors carry a large 117.5-point implied team total on DraftKings Sportsbook despite their crowded injury report. Curry should have no issues topping 31.5 P+A tonight.
