Here are Barkley’s current prop bet odds at DraftKings Sportsbook: o/u 104.5 rushing yards, o/u 1.5 receptions and o/u 12.5 receiving yards. Barkley is -170 to score a touchdown, +330 to score 2+ touchdowns and +400 to score the first touchdown of the game.
Barkley had a historic first regular season with the Eagles. He is the runaway favorite to win NFL Offensive Player of the Year with odds of -3000 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Barkley has brought the extra rushing element to complement Jalen Hurts that the Eagles have been seeking for the past several years. Barkley finished with over 2,000 rushing yards, by far the league leader. However, Barkley will now get to prove himself on the postseason stage. He appeared in just two career playoff games with the Giants and both came on the road in the same season. Barkley will now get the chance to put on a postseason show in front of the home fans in this game.
The Packers’ defense is one of the most underrated units in football. Jordan Love and the skill position players get a lot of the attention, but the defense carried the load for them in many respects this season. The offense dealt with a lot of injuries, including to Jordan Love, but the defense still remained consistently great. They finished the season fourth in the league in defensive EPA/play and in the top-10 against the run and the pass. That being said, they were slightly better against the pass, ranking fourth in defensive EPA/dropback compared to eighth in defensive EPA/rush.
Jalen Hurts is making his return after missing the end of the season with a concussion. Barkley ran for 150+ yards in both the game that Hurts left early with an injury, and the following game that he missed. When Hurts left the Washington game, Barkley ran for two touchdowns as well. My favorite prop bet for this game is for Barkley to score 2+ touchdowns. Hurts hasn’t played a full game in a month and there could be some rust when it comes to timing with his wide receivers. The Eagles might be conservative in their use of the “tush push” as well in order to protect Hurts’ health. That could lead to more carries than normal for Barkley close to the goal line allowing him to find the end zone multiple times.
