How the public is betting Steelers vs. Ravens in the Wild Card Round

The NFL Playoffs kick off on Saturday, and the Saturday night gam features a hard-hitting AFC North grudge match between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens in the Queen City. Check out the betting splits and most popular player prop bets at DraftKings Sportsbook for the third matchup between these teams this season.

The Ravens are 9.5-point favorites over the Texans, with the point total set to 43.5.

Betting Splits

The Ravens are getting very heavy action on the moneyline with 89% of the bets and 83% of the handle. Even at -485, they’re getting plenty of backing after their strong finish to the season. They trounced the Steelers 34-17 on December 21 and have reeled off four straight convincing wins since losing to the Eagles at the start of December. The Steelers, on the other hand, have dropped four straight including losing to the Bengals in primetime last Saturday.

The Ravens have covered the spread in four straight games, while the Steelers have only covered once in their four straight losses. The public is much more evenly split by having to give the 9.5 points to the Steelers. The Ravens still have a slight majority of the handle and bets, but it’s almost an even split. Both teams went 10-6-1 against the spread in the regular season.

The over/under on this game is the second-lowest of the weekend at just 43.5 points. In fact, the only game with a lower point total is the one right before it, featuring the Texans and Chargers. The public is almost evenly split as a whole on this line with 55% of the bets on the over and 45% on the under, but it’s very interesting to see that the bigger bets (and possibly sharper), are coming in on the under. The under has 61% of the handle while the over only has 39% of the handle. The Ravens’ games went over the point total in 13 of their 17 games this season, while the Steelers’ games were under their point total in nine of their 17 matchups.

Here are the top five most-bet player props for Saturday night’s game:

  1. Derrick Henry Anytime TD Scorer (-210)
  2. Mark Andrews Anytime TD Scorer (+150)
  3. Derrick Henry First TD Scorer (+310)
  4. Rashod Bateman Anytime TD Scorer (+155)
  5. Lamar Jackson Anytime TD Scorer (+170)

The public is definitely leaning into the Ravens with these player props, and especially keying in on superstar running back Derrick Henry. Henry’s anytime TD scorer prop is the most bet of any game this weekend even though it’s -210. Getting him as the first touchdown scorer gets much stronger odds at +310, but it obviously also comes with much higher risk. Henry had 18 total touchdowns in his first year with the Ravens but only scored once in his two games against the Steelers.

Mark Andrews and Rashod Bateman also crack the top five props from this game as anytime touchdowns scorers, and both could be in line for more work without WR1 Zay Flowers available. Andrews found the end zone 11 times this season despite a slow start and scored a touchdown in six straight weeks to close out the season.

Bateman scored four touchdowns in the last four games of the season as well, and finished with nine touchdowns on the season while hauling in 45 catches for 756 yards. He had the second-most receiving yards on the team behind only Flowers and the second-most receiving touchdowns on the team behind only Andrews.

The fifth player prop to sneak into this section is Lamar Jackson to score a touchdown (which would mean he needs to score as a rusher or receiver, not a passer). Jackson ran for four touchdowns in his 17 games this season but did not rush for a touchdown in either of the Ravens’ two games against the Steelers. Since it’s a playoff game, he may play with less caution, though, and he brings big-play ability that gives him a chance to score from anywhere on the field.
