Texas takes on Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl with a spot in the National Championship Game on the line. Here is how to bet on player props for this game at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Cotton Bowl: Texas vs. Ohio State
Ohio State is a six-point favorite over Texas at DraftKings Sportsbook in a high-profile College Football Playoff semifinal. These are two of college football’s biggest brands facing off for a spot in the National Championship, so it should be an amazing game. Texas survived its quarterfinal matchup against Arizona State that went to overtime. Meanwhile, Ohio State has steamrolled its first two opponents, including top-seeded Oregon, to get to this semifinal. Here is my favorite player prop from each team for the Cotton Bowl:
TreVeyon Henderson 50+ Rushing Yards (-110)
Ohio State has had an incredible run through the playoffs so far. It decimated both Tennessee and Oregon from start to finish. TreVeyon Henderson played a massive role in both of those wins. Henderson had 114 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns against Oregon and 134 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns against Tennessee. Henderson and Quinshon Judkins have been one of the best running back duos in college football all season but Henderson has been the standout performer between the two so far in the CFP. Ohio State should try to feed Henderson in this game early and often. Texas is second in the nation in defensive EPA/pass and it will be tough for Will Howard to crack its secondary. The Longhorns are 43rd in defensive rushing success rate so a heavy workload for Henderson could be what cracks the tough Texas defense. Henderson has 50+ rushing yards in 12 of 14 games this season and he should hit that mark again in the Cotton Bowl.
Quinn Ewers 240+ Passing Yards (-115)
Quinn Ewers had a massive game against Arizona State to advance Texas to this semifinal. Ewers went for 322 passing yards, three passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown. In Texas’ biggest games, it put the burden on Ewers’ shoulders. Texas has also really struggled to run the ball all season with a plethora of running back injuries hurting its cause. Ohio State has one of the best defenses in college football and it should be really difficult for Texas to run the football.
Ohio State is favored by six points in this game and based on its last two performances, there is a chance it jumps on Texas early and takes a lead. That will force Texas to be aggressive and attack through the air to keep up with the explosive Ohio State offense. Ewers has always put up big numbers in the biggest games of his career. In his first-ever bowl start, he threw for 369 yards against Washington. In last year’s Big 12 Championship Game, Ewers threw for 452 yards and followed that performance up with 318 yards in the CFP against Washington. This season, Ewers threw for 358 yards in the SEC Championship Game against Georgia and then had 322 yards against Arizona State in the quarterfinals. Whether they win the game or not, the Longhorns and Ewers will go down swinging and he should put up a big passing yards total.
