Tyrese Haliburton Injury Update: January 10 vs. Warriors

UPDATE: Haliburton and Myles Turner are available.

After an inconsistent start to the season, Indiana Pacers All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton is starting to find his groove. In his last four games, he’s averaged 24.8 points and 11.0 assists per game on blistering 51-49-84 shooting splits, and the Pacers have won all four. Thanks to its current winning streak, Indiana has climbed into the East’s top six for the first time this season.

Unfortunately, the Pacers might not have Haliburton in action against the Golden State Warriors on Friday night. The 24-year-old suffered a right ankle sprain in Indiana’s win over the Brooklyn Nets on January 6 and, while he was able to play through it on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls, scoring 16 points and adding 13 assists, the Pacers have listed him as questionable for Friday’s clash.

Whether or not Haliburton plays might not matter against the struggling Warriors, losers of 15 of their last 21. If Haliburton cannot play, T.J. McConnell, one of the league’s premier backup point guards, would likely step into the starting lineup. This season, McConnell has averaged 10.5 points and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 54.5% from the field.
