Young is coming off a 20-assist showing in Tuesday’s buzzer-beater win over the Jazz. Jalen Johnson (shoulder) missed this game and will remain sidelined Thursday, putting more responsibilities on Young’s plate as a playmaker. Averaging a career-high 5.3 assists per game with a 21.7% assist rate this season, Johnson is a very underrated passer. With him off the floor this season, Young’s assist rate increases 3.5 percentage points to an absurd 50.5%.

Johnson has missed five games in 2024-25 and Young is averaging 14.4 assists per game in those contests. The guard has exceed 12.5 assists in three of those five games and Thursday’s matchup vs. the Suns is expected to be a shootout. Atlanta and Phoenix rank 19th and 24th in defensive efficiency, respectively, and this game’s total is the highest of Thursday’s game eight game slate by three points.

Young’s elite playmaking should be on full display in this setting and he needs to be backed for over 12.5 assists at this appealing +100 price.
