Turner has not missed a game since all the way back on November 18. Enrique Freeman started in Turner’s place that night, but the rookie has been virtually non-existent in Indiana’s rotation since the team acquired Thomas Bryant in mid-December. If Turner sits, Bryant would likely draw the emergency start. He’d also be quite viable on DraftKings with just a $3,200 salary on Wednesday night. — Garion Thorne
Tyrese Haliburton has been listed as questionable for Wednesday’s matchup vs. the Bulls with an ankle injury. It is unclear when this injury occurred, but if the guard is out Wednesday, it will be Haliburton’s first absence of the season.
Haliburton’s numbers have dropped from a season ago, but the guard is still averaging 18.4 points and 8.4 assists in 35.1 minutes per game this season, with a 21.7% usage rate and a 35.2% assist percentage.
If Haliburton sits Wednesday, all of the Pacers’ starters will benefit from increased roles in this dream matchup vs. the Bulls, who rank third in pace and 24th in defensive efficiency. Plus, T.J. McConnell would be in line for an expanded workload, regardless if he started or not. In the 14 games McConnell played with Haliburton out last season, McConnell averaged 12.1 points, 6.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 23.2 minutes per game, which resulted in 28.9 FPTS per game.
The Pacers went 7-8 with Haliburton inactive last season and if the guard sits Wednesday, the Bulls may be worth backing for the upset over Indiana. Chicago has won six of its last 10 games, including victories over the Celtics, Bucks and Knicks. — Alex Hunter
