Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox will miss his second-straight game tonight due to a glute injury.
Sacramento is coming off a 129-99 win over the Golden State Warriors, though Fox did not appear in that contest. Now, he’ll sit the second leg of the back-to-back against the Miami Heat, as well.
The 27-year-old guard is averaging 26.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game across his 35 appearances this season.
With Fox out of the rotation against the Warriors, Malik Monk and Keon Ellis both received additional minutes. They are in line to benefit in his absence again tonight. Additionally, rookie Devin Carter made a strong impression with 13 points and seven boards in his second-ever NBA game after making his debut last week.
The Kings sit 17-19 in what’s been a disappointing campaign. Former head coach Monty Williams was fired in December, which has created trade speculation surrounding Fox and his future in Sacramento.
With that said, the Kings are currently 2.5-point favorites over the Jimmy Butler-less Heat on DraftKings Sportsbook, with -142 odds on the Moneyline.
