Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic removed from starting lineup

In 2021-22, the Phoenix Suns had the best record in the Western Conference at 64-18. Since then, it’s been all downhill. The Suns won 45 games the next season, finishing fourth in the Western Conference. The following season, Phoenix won 49 games but ended up as the sixth seed.

Things started off promising this season and a bounceback looked to be in order with a new coach at the helm, winning nine of the first 11 games, which included seven in a row. But that period turned out to be a flash in the pan.

Phoenix has won only six of 22 games since.

Sure, there have been injuries and the Suns are still 10th in offensive efficiency. Unfortunately, they are 23rd in defensive efficiency.

On Sunday, Chris Haynes reported that the Suns have made changes to the starting lineup, moving Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic to the bench while Ryan Dunn and Mason Plumlee will get the starting nods.

The defense should be much improved while Devin Booker and Kevin Durant will likely shoulder more offensive responsibilities. With Beal and Nurkic off the court, Durant has seen a 4.1 percent usage rate bump while Booker has seen a 3.25 percent increase.

Stan joined DraftKings in December of 2020. It was a glorious time, except for that whole COVID thing, when we got Madden streams and boisterous bat flips from the KBO. I was brought on board to bring some West Coast flavor. I especially love hoops, and most of my content is in that arena. When I walk along the beach, strumming my guitar, the beat that I hear is not one of crashing waves. No, it is the beat of the ball bouncing off the hardwood with highs provided by the squeaks of the sneakers. Ball is life.
