Nabers has had a sensational rookie season. Despite missing two games and dealing with a disastrous quarterback room, Nabers ranks fourth in the NFL in receptions and eighth in receiving yards. Nabers has more touchdowns than any other Giants skill position player, including the running backs. The Giants have played four quarterbacks this season and none of them have performed particularly well. Also, outside of Nabers, no Giants pass-catchers have really stepped up to the plate. That has put an enormous amount of personal pressure on Nabers to perform at a high level in order for the Giants’ offense to succeed. Nabers has answered the bell nearly every week despite that immense pressure.
The Eagles have one of the league’s best defenses, but they will be resting starters for this game. Zack Baun, Jalen Carter, Nakobe Dean and Darius Slay are all listed as doubtful for this game and there is always a chance that even more players rest after the first quarter or first half is done. The Eagles are also resting all of their offensive stars which will also likely harm the Eagles’ defense. Without Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley running the football to dominate time of possession, the defense will get a bit more work than they typically do. That could open the door for the Giants to have more offensive success than normal.
The Giants did seem to find a bit of an offensive spark last week. Drew Lock had by far his best game as a Giant with over 300 yards and four touchdowns. Nabers played a huge role in that, going for a season-high 171 yards on seven catches with two touchdowns on top of that. My favorite way to back Nabers in this game is through his receptions prop. I am taking Nabers to go over 6.5 receptions against the Eagles. Philadelphia will be playing backups in this game and have no real motivation. Nabers has cleared this number in three straight games and against an Eagles defense lacking several of their stars, Nabers should clear it for the fourth straight game.
