The Buccaneers host the Saints in an NFC South battle in Week 18. Here are some Mike Evans prop bets to consider at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Mike Evans Prop Bets
Here are Evans’ current prop bet lines at DraftKings Sportsbook: o/u 99.5 receiving yards. Evans is -150 to score a touchdown, +400 to score 2+ touchdowns, and +340 to score the first touchdown of the game.
Mike Evans is looking for a historic day on Sunday. One of the most underrated players of the 21st century, Evans has 1,000 or more receiving yards in each of the first ten seasons of his career, an NFL record to start a career. An 11th-straight season of 1,000 or more receiving yards would tie Jerry Rice’s record for most consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons. Evans needs 85 yards against the Saints to hit 1,000 yards this season.
Luckily for Evans, the Buccaneers will be highly motivated to win this game. Not only are they facing a division rival, but they can clinch the NFC South with a win. They now have a one-game lead over the Falcons in the division, so they would need to lose and Atlanta would need to beat Carolina for the Bucs to miss the playoffs. Tampa Bay has won five of their past six games to get themselves into this position. Meanwhile, they face a Saints team that has lost four of their past five games and is struggling mightily, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
The Saints have had a great pass defense this season, despite the team’s struggles. They rank 10th in defensive EPA/dropback and sixth in defensive dropback success rate. Mike Evans had one of his worst games of the season in the first matchup against New Orleans, grabbing just two catches for 34 yards. That is why my favorite prop bet on this game is for Evans to go under 99.5 receiving yards.
Evans has massive contract incentives and historical significance weighing on the race to 1,000 receiving yards. That has been widely publicized and it has greatly inflated this prop number. Evans has only gone over this number twice in the entire season. Mayfield will certainly target him to try to get him to 85 yards, but that is no guarantee. Even if he does reach 85 yards, that is a sizeable cushion to reach history and still stay under 99.5 yards. Last week, for example, Evans finished with 97 yards. This number has gotten way too high and the Saints are a tough secondary, so I am picking Evans to go under 99.5 receiving yards.
Pick: Mike Evans u99.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
