SG Jordan Clarkson ($6,000)
Utah is not so subtly trying to capture the Flagg. Will Hardy’s squad hasn’t been playing with the same intensity as prior iterations, with an offense much more predicated on guard play. Star Lauri Markkanen has been far more passive, which shot chucker Jordan Clarkson has taken advantage of in recent games. The former 6th Man of the Year has reclaimed his fluorescent green light, dominating the rock when on the floor. The 11-year veteran has scored over 24 points in three of his last four outings, taking over 15 field goal attempts in those games.
Clarkson is a combo guard who has never seen a shot he doesn’t like. He has a nice handle and can attack the rack, but he has seen more success as a jump shooter. Since December, he’s been shooting just a hair under 50% from beyond the arc. His efficiency is streaky at best, but he can quickly catch fire.
Miami is in a tailspin, and the defensive culture has eroded. Clarkson has been consistently netting over 35 fantasy points a night and is a perennial steal at this pre-assigned value.
PF/C Draymond Green ($5,700)
In spite of all his faults, Draymond Green is back to playing excellent basketball. He’s the most unique offensive engine in the league. The entire system runs through his decision-making on the perimeter and ferocious screens. His fantasy value hinges on his table setting and acting as a point forward to get his teammates favorable looks. Green is a solid rebounder for his size, and if he can put the ball in the basket, that’s an added boost.
Green has scored over 30 fantasy points in three of his last four showings, including 38 in his recent performance against Philadelphia. For a non-scorer, he has a fairly safe DFS floor, thanks to his uncanny ability to stuff the box score. His defensive stats help further enhance his output and give him a sneaky excellent upside. Green faces a familiar Memphis group that he’s been able to have success against in the past. If he can simply stay on the floor and avoid injury/conflict, there’s little stopping Green’s consistent production.
