NFL Pick ‘Em Pools
These pools are easy to use and allow you to have action for the entire NFL season with just one entry fee. For season-long pools, you will go back to the pool every week and pick five games against the spread. Each correct selection is worth one point and each incorrect selection is worth zero points. For single-week pools, the same rules apply.
Here are my five favorite selections and my leans for every other game of Week 18.
Week 18 Picks
Jaguars +5.5 vs. Colts- The Colts were eliminated from playoff contention after their embarrassing loss to the Giants last week. This team should be deflated and not come with their best effort for this game. The Jaguars, meanwhile, picked up a win last week over the Titans and have started to improve on offense the last couple of weeks. Mac Jones is using this opportunity to try to prove that he should still be a starting quarterback in the NFL so his motivation levels will be high compared to everyone on the Colts who will be way down. Doug Pederson is 40-30 (57%) ATS as an underdog in his head coaching career and should get another cover in this game.
Texans +4.5 vs. Titans- This line has moved back towards the Texans since the pool opened so you are getting a lot of value by picking the Texans at this number. The Texans opened as significant underdogs because they are locked into their current playoff seed and it was expected they would rest their starters for this game. However, DeMeco Ryans has implied that the normal starters, including CJ Stroud, will be playing in this game. The Texans have struggled the past few weeks, particularly last week against Baltimore, and would love the chance to build some positive momentum heading into the postseason. DeMeco Ryans seems to be prioritizing improving the team and their confidence over resting players and that should result in the Texans winning this game outright against a terrible Titans team.
Bills -2.5 vs. Patriots- The Bills are expected to rest some of their starters, at least for the second half of this game. Josh Allen is going to “start” the game to continue his streak of consecutive starts for the Bills but it has been implied that he will hit the bench pretty quickly. That means that Mitch Trubisky should take most of the snaps for Buffalo in this game. Trubisky has been in this system for several years now and is at the higher end of backup quarterbacks so he should play well against a bad New England defense. Drake Maye is banged up and could potentially miss this game which would hurt the Patriots offense even more. Realistically, the Patriots should want to lose this game and get the #1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Bills’ backups are more than capable of winning this game against a banged-up and deflated New England team.
Chiefs +9.5 vs. Broncos- The Chiefs are a team that has been clear about resting their starters. Patrick Mahomes and other key players will not see the field in this game and that means Carson Wentz will be playing quarterback. Wentz is one of the best back-up quarterbacks in the league and with Andy Reid calling plays, he should play well in this game. The Broncos need to win to clinch a playoff berth which is why this line is so inflated. However, Andy Reid’s Chiefs have been in similar spots to this in the past and performed well. This is still one of the best coaching staffs in the league and on the other side with all of the pressure on rookie QB Bo Nix, the Broncos’ staff should play this pretty conservatively. This should be a close game between division rivals despite the motivational edge for Denver.
Jets +2.5 vs. Dolphins- The Jets have been a disaster all season long but with so many questions around next season, Aaron Rodgers will want to get that 500th career touchdown pass in this game. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are expected to be without Tua Tagovailoa once again. Their offense has been a disaster without Tagovailoa this season and Tyler Huntley won’t be able to exploit the major weaknesses on the Jets defense. The Jets will have the better offense in this game and with the pressure on the Dolphins to win to keep their playoff hopes alive, the Jets should find a way to win what will likely be the final game of the failed Aaron Rodgers era.
