The Lakers are expected to be without Anthony Davis (ankle, doubtful) tonight, marking his second absence of the season. Davis’ only missed game this season came against the Grizzlies in early November and James went off for a season-high 39 points in that tilt. Also, let’s not forget D’Angelo Russell is also no longer with the Lakers, as they traded him to the Nets for Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton earlier this week.

With both Davis and Russell off the court this season, James’ usage rises 6.2 percentage points to a team-high 35.7% and he averages 28.8 points per 36 minutes. Hosting the Blazers tonight, who rank 27th in defensive efficiency, Los Angeles carries a 115.5-point implied team total on the DraftKings Sportsbook, despite Davis being out, which is a testament to how strong of a matchup this is.

The Lakers’ implied team total is the second-highest of the 12 teams competing Thursday and James should top his 27.5-point line in this ideal situation.
