NBA fans will be treated to a Game 7 Sunday evening featuring the upstart Minnesota Timberwolves and the defending champions Denver Nuggets, with both teams taking big punches over the course of this series ahead of the finale. The Timberwolves won the first two games on the road but had to secure a Game 6 win at home to force this contest, while the Nuggets are trying to become the first defending champion since the 2018 Warriors to make it to at least the conference finals the following season.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite player prop bets to target for Game 7 Sunday, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Anthony Edwards over 28.5 points (-105)
If you look at the two games that have been close in this series, Edwards went for 40+ points in each game. Those are the only instances of him going over this mark in the matchup, though the blowout nature of most of these games makes it harder to hone in on a trend. We saw what Edwards did in the opening round against the Suns, and he’s shown he can rise to the moment despite his youthfulness. He’s confident, talented and has shown he can score against any defense Denver throws at him. I like Edwards to go over this mark in a do-or-die Game 7.
Nikola Jokic triple-double (+155)
Jokic has been solid across this matchup when it comes to stats, though his efficiency truly went off the charts in the three wins. The Nuggets big man averaged 33 points, 9.7 assists and 9.3 rebounds per game in the wins while putting up 23.3 points, 6.3 assists and 11 rebounds in the three losses. The league MVP has been brilliant in every situation but he does have some experience playing in Game 7s with four under his belt. In those games, he averaged 24 points, 16 rebounds and 7.3 assists. I think he’ll be able to get those extra assists and log a triple-double this time around.
Rudy Gobert over 11.5 rebounds (-135)
Gobert has gone over this mark three times in the five games he’s played this series, with one under coming at 11 rebounds. Minnesota’s big man has played in a couple Game 7s during this time with the Jazz. He grabbed just four rebounds in a Game 7 against the Clippers where he only played 13 minutes, but pulled down 18 boards in a Game 7 against these Nuggets in the Orlando bubble. I expect Gobert to assert himself in the middle after struggling for a few games and dominate the glass. He should go over this line.
Jamal Murray over 19.5 points (-135)
It’s been an interesting playoffs for the Nuggets guard. Murray is shooting just under 40% in the postseason, showcasing his general inefficiency despite some late-game heroics. However, he has done well in Game 7s during his career. He’s played in four, going over this points line twice. The most memorable Game 7 for Murray came in the 2020 bubble, where he dropped 40 points on the Clippers to complete Denver’s comeback from a 3-1 deficit. Even with his inconsistent shooting, I think Murray finds a way to get over this line Sunday evening.
