The Miami Heat are about to get their best player back. After missing the team’s last five games after battling an illness and working through some conditioning concerns, five-time All-NBA forward Jimmy Butler looks set to make his return in tomorrow’s 7:30 p.m. ET clash against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Although Butler has found himself in the trade rumor mill, with ESPN’s Shams Charania reporting that he wants out of Miami, his presence will improve the Heat’s fortunes if he’s on the court. In 20 games this season, he’s averaged 18.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game.
With Butler in and out of the lineup, Miami has mostly stayed afloat, sitting at 16-14, in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The Heat have made a run from the Play-In Tournament before, making the NBA Finals in 2023 despite entering the playoffs as the No. 8 seed.
