On paper, the matchup looks sorta ugly. Los Angeles allows the second-fewest rebounds and 11th-fewest assists per game to opposing point guards this season. Paul has cleared 12.5 rebounds + assists in 19/31 (59%) overall games and seven of the last 10 games this season. It feels like he can overcome the poor matchup given his consistent production as both a playmaker and rebounder, especially when playing at home.
When playing at home, he has cleared this line in six straight games and 12/18 (67%) overall home games this season. Paul cashed in assists alone (14) last game against the Timberwolves and should flirt with double-digit assists tonight considering Wembanyama’s usage rate has eclipsed 40% in two of the last three games.
If he reaches 10 assists by simply feeding the beast, we’d only need three rebounds, which Paul has done in 22/32 (69%) overall games and nine of the last 10 home games this season.
