UPDATE: Porzingis has been ruled for Tuesday’s matchup with the Raptors, while Holiday will play. Holiday should start in his return, pushing Sam Hasuer back to the bench, while Horford should continue to start at center in place of Porzingis.
Porzingis (ankle) is listed as questionable for Tuesday’s game vs. the Raptors, along with Jrue Holiday (shoulder). The guard has missed three games in a row, while Porzingis has missed two straight games.
Porzingis is averaging 18.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game with a 25.7% usage rate this season and if he remains sidelined, Al Horford will continue to start at center for the Celtics and be a strong punt play for DFS in this prime matchup vs. Toronto. The Raptors rank fifth in pace and 25th in defensive efficiency this season, and for the 16 starts he has made for Porzingis this season, Horford is scoring 24.9 FPTS per game.
Also, if Porzingis remains unavailable, both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown will see bumps to their usage rates and be appealing DFS options and players to consider for overs on their player props on the DraftKings Sportsbook. With Porzingis off the floor this season, both Tatum and Brown see 31% usage rates and they are producing 1.5 and 1.2 FPTS per minute, respectively.
Holiday is a low usage player, but if he is out along with Porzingis, all the Celtics’ key players will see additional boosts, especially Payton Pritchard, as he will play starter-like minutes as one of Boston’s top five options—despite coming off the bench. With both Porzingis and Holiday inactive this season, Pritchard is amassing 34.1 FPTS in 29 minutes per game (four games).
