The Philadelphia Eagles entered the week without Jalen Hurts as he recovered from last week’s concussion. Their quarterback issues worsened in the third quarter of the matchup with the Cowboys as Kenny Pickett left the game with a rib injury.
Pickett took a notable shot when rolling right out of the pocket from Micah Parsons which caused the injury. The play resulted in an impressive touchdown to A.J. Brown but was called back due to offensive holding. Pickett was unable to take the following snap and Tanner McKee took his first NFL rep on the following play.
Before the injury, Picket was making the most of his opportunity as QB1. He led the Eagles to a 24-7 halftime lead and had completed 10 of his 15 pass attempts for 143 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game.
It also should be noted that Pickett was battling a rib injury leading into this game. The Eagles have been tight-lipped with the full severity of this issue but it was made known that he had some additional padding on the rib area for this game. He practiced in full on Thursday and Friday but was seen holding the area at other points in this game. Pickett was taken to the lockerroom for further evaluation and his official status is currently questionable.
