Fantasy football championship week is almost over! Monday Night Football can either make or break your fantasy matchup as the last game of the slate.
Let’s highlight my start/sit fantasy football picks for 49ers vs. Lions on MNF.
MNF Must-Starts
- Jahmyr Gibbs
- Amon-Ra St. Brown
- George Kittle
- Sam LaPorta
- Isaac Guerendo (if available)
Start ‘Em: Deebo Samuel
Something tells me if Deebo Samuel is on your fantasy team, you likely aren’t in the championship.
However, if you’re an outlier in that scenario, San Francisco’s WR1 is bouncing back at the right time. After a truly horrid stretch in the second half of the season, Samuel was fantastic against the Dolphins, racking up 121 total yards and a touchdown en route to a 25-point day.
Deebo saw his second-highest target total (nine) of the season, playing his most offensive snaps since Week 11. He’s a WR2 with strong upside against a Lions secondary that allows the fourth-most fantasy points to receivers.
Sit ‘Em: Jauan Jennings
The Niners’ passing attack hasn’t been good enough to justify starting two of their receivers.
Deebo is the guy in this receiving core that I’d roll with, leaving Jennings on the outside looking in. The 27-year-old has seen a decent target share over the second half of the season, but it hasn’t really translated to strong results. Jennings has failed to hit the double-digit fantasy point mark in four of his last five contests.
If you’re in the fantasy championship, you almost certainly have other options at receiver to consider with a more secure floor.
Start ‘Em: Jameson Williams
Williams has evolved from a big-play threat into a pivotal piece of the offense who has carved out a legitimate game-to-game role.
The big plays are still occurring, make no mistake about that, as evident by Williams’ 143 yards and a touchdown on five receptions last week. However, he’s seen at least six targets in five of Detroit’s last six games, racking up double-digit fantasy points in all but one of those outings.
The Niners boast a tough secondary, but in a crucial contest for the Lions’ NFC North race, Williams should be featured heavily again.
Those are my start ’em, sit ’em fantasy football picks for Monday Night Football!
