Here are Evans’ current prop bet odds at DraftKings Sportsbook: o/u 85.5 receiving yards and o/u 5.5 receptions. Evans is -120 to score a touchdown, +500 to score 2+ touchdowns, and +550 to score the first touchdown of the game.
Evans’ historic career is now in its 11th season and he is still performing at a very high level. He has had at least 1,000 receiving yards in every season of his NFL career. Ten straight 1,000-yard seasons to start a career is an NFL record that Evans is looking to extend. An 11th straight season of 1,000 or more receiving yards would also match Jerry Rice’s record for the most consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.
Evans missed a couple of games this season which slowed down his pace and he now needs a combined 182 receiving yards in the final two games of the season to reach 1,000 yards this year. Baker Mayfield has made it clear that this is something he is very aware of heading into these final two games.
The Panthers are a good matchup for Evans as well. When these two teams faced earlier this season, Evans had eight catches for 118 yards and a touchdown. In fact, over his career, Evans has more receiving yards against the Panthers than any other team in the NFL. Carolina ranks 31st in defensive EPA/play this season, so Evans should have another productive day against them.
The Buccaneers need to win to stay in the NFC South divisional race. Evans also needs a big game to set himself a realistic goal for next week to reach 1,000 yards on the season. With all of this motivation, Evans should have a massive game against the Panthers. Therefore, I am betting Evans to go over 85.5 receiving yards. Evans has cleared this number in two of his past four games and with a favorable matchup and so much added motivation, he should get it done in this game.
