Ja’Marr Chase Best Prop Bets for Bengals vs Broncos in Week 17

Ja’Marr Chase Best Prop Bets for Bengals vs Broncos in Week 17

Published:

By: Griffin Wong

In what has been a rough season for everyone except Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase, the Cincinnati Bengals’ playoff hopes are hanging by a thread. Heading into Week 17, the Bengals are two games behind the Denver Broncos, with both the Indianapolis Colts and the Miami Dolphins also at 7-8. Cincinnati can take the first step towards an unlikely postseason berth by beating the Broncos at home on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET.

For whatever struggles the Bengals have had this year, Chase hasn’t been one of them. He leads the league with 108 catches, 1,510 yards, and 16 scores and has the second-shortest odds of winning Offensive Player of the Year at DraftKings Sportsbook.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, Cincinnati is a 3.5-point favorite, and the point total is set at 49.5. Below, I’ve identified my favorite prop bets centered around Chase.

Best Ja’Marr Chase Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Ja’Marr Chase 100+ Receiving Yards (+110)

Ever since a midseason slump — by Chase’s remarkable standards — in which he put up 72, 55, 54, and 43 yards across a four-game stretch from Week 6 to Week 9, the fourth-year receiver has been on fire. Although his numbers are inflated somewhat by a 264-yard, three-touchdown performance against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10, Chase has averaged 132.2 yards per game over the past six weeks, with three triple-digit receiving performances. As the Bengals have realized their lack of offensive playmakers outside of Burrow and Chase, they have thrown the ball more aggressively, dropping back on 67.7% of snaps in the last three weeks, more than any team but Miami.

From an efficiency perspective, Saturday’s game might be a little bit tough for Chase. The Broncos allow just 6.7 yards per attempt, the fourth-fewest of any team in the league. They’ve also held quarterbacks to a 83.1 passer rating, the fourth-lowest in the league, and given up just 19 touchdowns, fewer than all but seven of their contemporaries. Still, opposing quarterbacks have opted to test the Broncos; the 540 passes they have thrown against Denver mark the fourth-highest figure in the league. Overall, the Broncos have given up 3,602 yards through the air, the 11th-most in football.

Ja’Marr Chase Anytime TD Scorer (-145)

While Denver is pretty good at keeping receivers out of the end zone, Burrow is better at finding his best target. Chase has a massive 27.4% target share, which jumps to 28.3% within the opponent’s 20-yard line. Although Chase ranks only second to teammate Tee Higgins in target share both on passes in the red zone and passes into the end zone, Cincinnati’s offense has been clicking in the last seven games and I wouldn’t be surprised if both receivers get on the score sheet.

The Bengals — offensively, anyway — are peaking at the right time. They have averaged 32.6 points per game dating back to a Week 9 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, and Burrow leads the league with 4,010 passing yards. Individually, Chase has found the end zone in seven of his last nine games, so it’d be foolish not to expect him to do so again on Saturday.
