Here are Brown’s current prop bet odds at DraftKings Sportsbook: o/u 74.5 rushing yards, o/u 3.5 receptions and o/u 26.5 receiving yards. Brown is -220 to score a touchdown, +240 to score 2+ touchdowns and +360 to score the first touchdown of the game.
Brown has had a breakout season for the Bengals. Joe Mixon was the long-time running back in Cincinnati but left for Houston in the offseason. After being in a supporting role last season, Brown was given the lead-back role this year and has performed really well. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase get a lot of the headlines in this offense as they have arguably been the best players at their respective positions this season. However, Brown has been an essential part of this Bengals offense.
Since Week 9, the Bengals have actually been a perfectly balanced offense. Over that stretch, they rank eighth in offensive EPA/dropback and eighth in offensive EPA/rush. Brown is averaging 80.6 rushing yards per game and has scored six touchdowns over that seven-game stretch. That being said, the Broncos have had the best defense in the NFL this season. They rank first in defensive EPA/play, first in defensive success rate and first in defensive EPA/dropback. They are an elite passing defense, and it is going to be difficult for the Bengals to break them down through the air.
The Bengals used Brown as more of a receiver out of the backfield last season when supplementing Mixon. However, this season he has not been much of a receiver. He is averaging just 3.3 receptions and 22.4 receiving yards per game this season. That is why I am betting on Brown to go under 3.5 receptions in this game. He has gone under that number in three of his past four games and in 11 out of 15 this season. Against an elite Denver defense, Burrow should look to Chase and Tee Higgins, his most trusted targets. Brown could be a threat on the ground, but he is likely to stay under 3.5 receptions.
