The Nets are finishing a back-to-back at home on Friday night against the Spurs. In the backcourt, Cam Thomas (hamstring) is out for the 13th straight game, and Ben Simmons (injury management) is also out since it’s the second game of the back-to-back. Additionally, Cameron Johnson (hip) popped up on the injury report as questionable on Friday before downgraded to out. With Dennis Schroder ($5,300) traded and Simmons and Johnson joining Thomas on the sideline, there will be plenty of work available. Shake Milton ($4,500) is one of the top options left on the Nets and he brings a very high ceiling in a favorable matchup against the Spurs. He’ll be an excellent value play for DFS fantasy basketball contests on DraftKings.

In the five games since Schroder was dealt, Johnson leads the team with 27.0% usage rate, producing 38.4 DraftKings points per game at the rate of 1.15 DraftKings points per minute. When Johnson has been off the floor during that span, Milton’s usage rate has jumped to 25.2%, and he has produced 0.81 DraftKings points per minute.
Milton has averaged 17.9 DraftKings points in those five games overall, but the opportunities are there for him to do even better since he has taken at least eight shots in each of those five games.
On Thursday in Milwaukee, Milton had 20 points, two rebounds and 25.5 fantasy points. The 28-year-old should continue to get plenty of usage and opportunity to return value on Friday, with both Simmons and Johnson vacating plenty of usage for him. He has the potential for plenty of points and can fill in some solid peripherals for Brooklyn as well on his way to being one of the best value plays on the board.
