It has been a massive struggle for the Bears, and particularly the Bears’ offense this season. Caleb Williams has had a tough learning curve but the playcalling and offensive line issues have been the overarching problem. Despite the offensive struggles, it has been a solid individual season for D.J. Moore. Moore ranks 11th in the NFL in receptions this season, despite the additions of Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze to this Chicago offense. Moore leads the Bears in targets, receptions and receiving yards this season.
It has been a bit of an up-and-down season for the Seattle secondary. The Seahawks defense ranks 22nd in receptions allowed this season. Seattle ranks 13th in defensive EPA/dropback but 19th in defensive dropback success rate this season. That means they are doing a decent job of limiting deep passing plays but they are allowing a lot of throws underneath. For the Bears’ best possession receiver, Moore, that should be good news. The Bears defense has also had a lot of their own issues and that should result in the Bears needing to play catch-up to hang in this game with the Seahawks.
Therefore, my favorite prop bet for D.J. Moore is for him to go over 5.5 receptions in this game. Moore should have a big game against Seattle. He has had at least six receptions in six straight games entering this matchup. Moore has 42 targets over his past four games and has become the go-to target for Caleb Williams. Moore will need to keep up that pace for the Bears’ offense to compete in this game. Moore should make it seven straight games with at least six receptions, clearing his prop number of 5.5 receptions.
