Thursday Night Football for Week 17 will feature the Seahawks-Bears, taking place in chilly Chicago. A chance of rain is forecasted with temperatures in the low 40’s. Let’s get into some of the bets I like for this game, which you can tail on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Caleb Williams over 26.5 rushing yards
The Seahawks pass defense has been excellent as of late. Opposing quarterbacks haven’t exceeded 249 passing yards since Week 9. Over that span they’ve had just a 64% completion rate, three passing touchdowns, and 7.3 yards per attempt. Williams hasn’t exactly been accurate throwing the ball, so I’d expect quite a few rushing attempts in this one. The Seahawks run defense has been average at best and Williams should be able to gain a good chunk of yards on the ground. Williams has at least four rush attempts since Week 11, highlighted by nine against the Packers. The Seahawks have allowed an 11% explosive run rate on the year, which could clear the way for Williams to grab the over on this bet.

Geno Smith over 252.5 passing yards -115
This is a great spot for Smith to sling it against the Bears. He’s been very efficient against zone coverage, completing 74% of his pass attempts. The Bears have utilized zone coverage on 79% of dropbacks this season, which is the 4th-highest rate in the league. Smith also has the third-most total passing yards against zone coverage, while averaging 7.4 yards per attempt. The Bears defense has really fallen off during the second-half of the season and this should be a great spot for Smith through the air.
Seahawks -2.5 1H spread -115
On the road, the Seahawks have been excellent at covering the spread in the first half, going 4-2 in that scenario. The Bears have been the worst team at covering the spread in the 1H, with a record of 4-11. If you were as so bold to bet this every week, you’d be down -8.6 units on the year. The Seahawks have been jumping out to some quick starts lately, averaging just under 14 points over the last three weeks. The Bears, over that same span, are averaging a meager 4.7 points in the first half. With the idea that Smith will be able to throw against this Bears defense, I feel good about the Seahawks being able to cover this first half spread.
